Franny and Frank were married on a very warm day in mid May! The wedding and reception were held in the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel’s grand ballroom. It was filled with white flowers, greenery and crystal candle holders.

Engaged couples everywhere are so excited about their 2019 weddings. One of the biggest challenges can be deciding on which flowers go best with your wedding vision. Flowers can be a big expense in the overall wedding budget.

Spring wedding season is over and we have a few weeks to breathe before summer weddings begin. There are a few recurring questions that we get from brides about wedding flowers. I thought it might be helpful if I provided a few answers to these common questions.

I met Michelle and Nick at a wedding open house hosted by the River View Occoquan. The River View is a stunning wedding and events venue located in Lorton, VA about 40 minutes south of Washington DC. the venue is located in the Occoquan Regional Park and opened in 2018.

Kaitlynn and David were married on a gorgeous Saturday in August. The venue was Fleetwood Farm Winery in Leesburg VA. Fleetwood Farm is a spectacular venue with some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. I am always excited when I meet a couple that will be getting married there because I know it will be simply gorgeous. Kaitlynn was a very relaxed bride to be, and so easy to talk to from the very beginning.

A few months ago I decided to organize a wedding inspiration photo shoot. Wedding pros will periodically participate in these shoots for several reasons. Networking with others in the industry, testing out new ideas and introduction of new designs styles are a few reasons we participate in styled shoots. I decided to go with a “glamorous winter garden” theme with blush, gold, black and ivory as the color palette.

It has been a few weeks since I’ve last posted and as a community, we have entered uncharted territory with the COVID-19 experience. As we shift into unprecedented times with restrictions on large gatherings, naturally weddings are a concern. Your initial thought may be doom and gloom but there are options.

By now, many couples planning to marry in 2020 have been affected by COVID-19. Certainly, if you were planning an April-June wedding you have likely rescheduled to late summer, fall or possibly even 2021.
